Silver Spring, MD (July
29, 2008) — Hearts & Homes for Youth, the Maryland agency focused on helping troubled and at-risk
youth today announced the appointment
of Peter Carnathan, Senior Vice President of Fiduciary Investment Management
International, Inc., and Vice President/NY for Fiduciary Trust Company
International, to its Board of Directors.In his
role, Carnathan will advise Hearts & Homes for Youth on a number of
business and strategy issues relating to expanding awareness and services for the Silver Spring
non-profit.
Even before
officially joining the Board, Carnathan had found special ways to help Hearts
& Homes. Earlier this year, he connected the non-profit to former Maryland
Governor Robert Ehrlich, who consequently played a special role in Hearts &
Homes’ 2008 HONORS fundraising gala. In addition to his role on the Board, Carnathan
will also be on the planning committee for Hearts & Homes’ second annual
HONORS. This is his first time on the organization’s Board of Directors.
As Senior Vice President of Fiduciary Investment Management,
Carnathan is responsible for business development and client services. He is also
an Investment Advisor Representative of Fiduciary Investment Management
International and a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP).
Prior to joining Fiduciary, Carnathan was a Senior Vice
President and portfolio manager at U.S. Trust Company in Washington, D.C.,
where he consulted with individuals and family clients. He also held management
and client advisor positions with Mellon Financial Corporation and Bank of
America. Carnathan received a bachelor’s degree from Loyola
College in Maryland and completed additional training
at the American Bankers’ Association National Trust School and Georgetown
University Executive Financial Planning Program. He currently resides in Potomac, MD
with his wife, Molly, and their four children.

its founding in 1964, Hearts & Homes for Youth has served over 30,000 boys
and girls throughout Maryland
who are neglected, abused, abandoned, homeless or otherwise at risk. Its
services include the only shelter in Montgomery
County specifically for
kids, seven group homes, therapeutic foster care, independent living and a
unique foster care program for pregnant and parenting teens. The organization is dedicated to the mission
